Super Science Sunday comes to Swansea

Published on 28 March 2019

The Technocamps team was privileged to have been invited to participate in Super Science Sunday, organised by Swansea University's Oriel Science project as part of British Science Week 2019.  Visitors at the event taking place in the wonderful surroundings of the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, were treated to a huge range of interactive science exhibits and were given the opportunity to explore current research with talks from special guests throughout the day.  It was a fantastic event with lots of different STEM-related activities to see and do, aimed particularly at families and children.

On hand throughout the day to represent the Technocamps programme, Delivery Officer Luke Clements was pleased that the event attracted over 3000 visitors over the course of the day.

It's always pleasing to see the excitement on so many young faces when they succeed in solving the puzzles and programme robots to complete tasks. Our BB-8 Sphero robot was a particular crowd-pleaser!”

The team was able to show off its state-of-the-art robotics technology, combined with hands-on demonstrations of some of the programmes that Technocamps offers for schools and young people throughout Wales.

Also on display was the Model Railway, which offers a fun and interactive experience that helps to demonstrate the cutting-edgeresearch undertaken by the Swansea Railway Verification Group, a project that is supported by Technocamps. This will be exhibited next at the Swansea Science Festival in November 2019.
